I remember the first time that I fell in love with Lanterns. I was in Vietnam, walking through the quaint town of Hoi An and the streets were brilliantly lit up with the colorful paper balls. I was completely mesmerized by their magical beauty. I had seen lanterns before, but never in that way– I felt transported. Lanterns are a very prevalent in Asian culture– the “floating lanterns” in Thailand, the Andon lamps of Japan, and of course the colorful lanterns of Vietnam.
