{Weekend Inspiration} Des Moines Wedding

July 3rd, 2012 | Posted by skirsner in Uncategorized

I had a very packed weekend starting with my cousin’s wedding, in Iowa, and ending with my friend’s birthday in Los Angeles. There were SO many things that caught my eye this weekend, from the gorgeous gold, black, and white interior of the London Hotel (in West Hollywood), to the sculptures at the Des Moines Art Center. However, what I would love to share with you are a few of the little details from the wedding.

I absolutely loved the cake! It was simple and sweet (literally and figuratively) and had some character to it. Ever since my dad retired, he has become extremely good at making Japanese paper cranes (he has made over 1000)! So, when my cousin asked if he could make a version of the crane that would act as a place card holder for the table, he sprang into action. They looked gorgeous and added an “etsy” feel to the table– who knew an ex CFO could be so crafty! Lastly, I wanted to show the personalized cocktail napkins. I absolutely love grey and white together and I never get tired of a “lovebirds” theme.
